Amy Vincent (Cinematographer) is a visionary “painter of light” who’s most recent film “Hustle & Flow”, won her the 2005 Sundance Film Festival Cinematography Award.

 

Her first industry job was in the archive dept at Warner Bros, then moving up to assistant [sound] editor. In 1987 she earned an internship in the camera dept at Warner Bros and became a member of the union [ICG Local 600].  Amy is a member of the prestigious American Society of Cinematographers (ASC).

 

“I came up in a very old school way - interning in the camera department, loading, assisting, and operating with people like John Lindley, Bob Richardson, Bill Pope. I didn't even realize how much I learned from those guys until I finally got to shoot a film myself.”

 

She attended University of California, Santa Cruz [Theatre Arts & Film]; then American Film Institute [AFI] [1991-93; Cinematography].

 

Other Awards: Golden Satellite Award nom [1998] for 'Eve's Bayou'; Women in Film 'Kodak Vision Award' [2001]
